Netcraft phishing and cybercrime protection app for iOS available globally

Netcraft has released a new version of its phishing and cybercrime protection app for iOS. The app protects users around the world from online threats including phishing, JavaScript skimmers, fake shops, and coronavirus scams. The Netcraft app is available for download today on iOS, Android, and Amazon devices:

Our iOS app protects against online threats, with new attacks blocked within 15 minutes of being identified as fraudulent by Netcraft. It offers a 28-day free trial of all features, after which a monthly or annual subscription can be purchased for $1.99 or $9.99 (£1.99 or £9.99).

You can use the app without a subscription to report suspicious sites to Netcraft with just a few taps, and automatically report URLs in SMS and iMessages from unknown senders.

Wherever you are, the app defends against phishing attacks targeting regional services such as governments and banks. In addition, it protects users against other types of online threat such as JavaScript skimmers on eCommerce sites, fake shops imitating well-known brands, new threats such as coronavirus scams, and attacks targeting global entities – such as cloud services, financial institutions, and social media.

Constantly updated protection against online threats

Phishing is not confined to the desktop: in an analysis of a month’s worth of log files recovered from phishing sites, Netcraft found that two-thirds of visits came from mobile browsers. Some fraudsters also add mobile-specific user interfaces to their phishing attacks, making them even more effective against phone and tablet users.

Mobile users are also vulnerable to smishing – a practice where fraudsters distribute phishing URLs via SMS and iMessage, and frequently spoof the sender to make the message appear to originate from a legitimate entity.

Despite this, mobile browsers lack comprehensive anti-phishing protection, unlike their desktop counterparts. In an ongoing study, Netcraft has found that iOS and Android browsers block only a fraction of the sites that are blocked by their desktop equivalents, leaving mobile users more exposed.

The app makes use of Netcraft’s industry-leading malicious site feed, which is licensed to the leading web browser vendors, as well as anti-virus, firewall, intrusion detection and content filtering companies. Every day Netcraft processes millions of suspicious URLs to identify phishing attacks. Over 85 million
unique phishing sites have been detected and blocked by Netcraft’s community to date.

The Netcraft app blocks hundreds of thousands of malicious sites, all while ensuring user privacy is protected. Threats are blocked in the Safari browser—and in other apps such as WhatsApp, Slack, and Twitter—without revealing to us any information about the sites you’re visiting.

Report suspicious websites and SMS messages

Download the Netcraft app on the App Store, Google Play Store, or Amazon Appstore now to benefit from Netcraft’s comprehensive mobile phishing protection. Desktop browser protection is also available in the Netcraft extensions for Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Opera.

The Netcraft mobile apps can also protect your employees or customers against targeted phishing attacks. Netcraft offers several flexible solutions for mobile, such as integrating our core anti-phishing and cybercrime protection into your mobile app to automatically protect your customers.

It Matters Where Your Money Is

Fidelity Spire enables users to save, plan, set short- and long-term goals, and invest. As with any financial goal, time horizon and choice of account type are key considerations. Fidelity Spire currently makes it easy to link goals to two different types of Fidelity accounts. For a short-term goal established in Fidelity Spire, the Fidelity® Cash Management account, with no fees or minimum balances, and ATM fee reimbursement, can be a powerful option. For long-term goals, with the opportunity for investment growth over time, users can decide whether to invest on their own, or enroll in a service that does the investing for them like Fidelity Go.

In keeping with Fidelity Spire’s simplicity and value, Fidelity Go is moving to a subscription pricing of $3/month for accounts with a balance of $10,000 to $49,9993. For accounts with a balance of less than $10,000, Fidelity Go will be free of any advisory fees. With this clear approach to pricing, Fidelity continues to eliminate the complexity of investing. Fidelity is the only brokerage firm to offer the combination of zero online commissions for stocks and ETFs trades, zero account fees, zero account minimums to open a retail brokerage account, zero investment minimums, zero expense ratio index mutual funds available directly to retail investors, and fractional share trading for stocks and ETFs.

“I graduated from college during the last recession and especially empathize with recent grads as we know many are struggling,” said Lannan. “Fidelity Spire was in development before the COVID-19 pandemic, but today’s reality has put a spotlight on the importance of learning, setting goals, investing efficiently and having an easy way to track progress. With Fidelity Spire, we want young investors to feel confident in their money smarts and ultimately live the lives they want.”

Dabbl App Review: Free Gift Cards or Scam?

Dabbl App Review

Isn’t it incredible how smartphones influence our daily lives? In just a few years we went from clipping coupons in the Sunday newspaper to getting them as notifications on our phones. Apps like Dabbl claim they can help us earn gift cards for the things we already do online like playing games and watching videos. But how true is that claim? If you’re anything like me you have doubts and that’s why you’re reading Dabbl App Reviews

So that’s why my team decided to do some research and write this Dabbl App Review. Things aren’t always what they seem, so you may want to read along carefully!

What Is Dabbl?

Dabbl found online at GetDabbl.com is an app and website that rewards you for engaging with and sharing your opinion about products, brands and services you use every day. Dabbl is a subsidiary of AdJoy; an advertising and digital marketing company founded in 2015 by Benjamin Briceno and they have offices in Tampa, FL, and San Francisco, CA.

How Does Dabbl App Work?

Dabbl is basically a rewards app. They pay people like you and I to view ads, take surveys and play miniature games. All you have to do is download the free app, register and start doing these small tasks. But unlike similar apps like Swagbucks and FusionCash, you’ll not be earning real money. You’ll first accumulate a certain number of Dabbl points and later convert them to gift cards of popular retailers like Amazon, BestBuy, WalMart and more.

Dabbl Features

Dabbl has a couple of features that can help you earn more points including the following:

“From Dabbl” – These are short, interactive videos, offers and ads you’ll have to watch to earn points. They are hosted exclusively by Dabbl and once you do what’s required your points will reflect immediately.

“From the Web” – These are short videos and ads from around the web that also earn you points as well.

Referral Program – Under the “From Dabbl” tab you can also get your referral link to earn points by referring others to Dabbl.

Extra Savings – These are offers from Dabbl partners that may earn you points when you enrol or engage with.

How Much Money Can I Make With The Dabbl App?

At the time of this review, 1000 Dabbl points carry a $1 value. Surveys earn you 20 points on average, short videos have a 5-20 points value, and offers earn you 1 – 5000 points depending on the offer. When your referral earns 1000 points you’ll get 2000 points. So how much you make with Dabbl depends on how many of these challenges you can complete, their availability and your effort.

How & When Does Dabbl Pay You?

As mentioned earlier, unfortunately you won’t be earning real money using Dabbl. They pay with gift cards from companies such as Spotify, Amazon, BestBuy, WalMart and more once you earn 5000 points. But if the gift card business is just not for you and you instead prefer real money, you can check out Swagbucks.com and FusionCash.com that also pay you to watch videos, visit websites, play games and more. You can also join SurveyJunkie.com if you’re interested in taking surveys for cash.

How Do I Get Started With The Dabbl App?

The Dabbl app is free to download and use. It is available for both Android and iOS. To register, they’ll require your phone number and age. After you verify your number with a code they’ll send via text, you can login and start earning these points.

Dabbl App Complaints

Well I bet you already know that Dabbl, like most similar apps, is far from perfect. So we listed a couple of complaints to help you decide whether the app is worth the trouble.

Limited earning potential – You’re not guaranteed that you’ll make money each time you open the app. There are not always things to do. So if you’re not making money by referring others, your earning potential is very limited. But you can always get around that by joining more of these companies like SwagBucks.com, FusionCash.com and SurveyJunkie.com. That way you can make up for downtime by one income channel.

I prefer cash insteadUnfortunately you can’t earn real cash with Dabbl, unless you were planning on selling these gift cards. Users agree that it would have been great if they had options such as PayPal cash.

No BBB Profile – If you always determine a company’s legitimacy using the Better Business Bureau, Dabbl is not listed there.

Is Dabbl App Legit or A Scam?

Dabbl appears to be a legit app. While you won’t pay off any credit card debt using the app, it’s a fun way to earn gift cards during your free time when these offers are available.

Since you won’t always have paying opportunities on the Dabbl app, it makes “cents” to have other ways to make money. Sites like Swagbucks and FusionCash allow you to earn cash and gift cards doing what you already do online like reading emails, watching videos. Playing games and more. You can make money taking surveys with SurveyJunkie.com as well.

So that’s my Dabble review. Do you use the app or anything similar? We would love to read all about it in the comments section! If you still have questions about the app, you can find answers in their FAQs page

Until next time

Dabbl App Review

A Likeable Lifestyle App with Clicker DNA

As a species, we tend not to drink enough water. Yes, there are those smug people who carry a bottle with them wherever they go, but for the majority of us hydration is just another chore that we fail to keep on top of.

Fortunately, there’s an app for that. Plant Nanny 2 is developer Fourdesire’s attempt to get us all drinking more, in a bid to save us from high blood pressure, constipation, creaking joints, knackered kidneys, unsightly faces, and all the other ills that befall the chronically parched.

It does this by effectively gamifying the act of drinking. As the name suggests, Plant Nanny 2 gives you a plant to look after, reminding you at intervals to water it to help it flourish. And for every ounce (or millileter, if you prefer) that you pour over your grateful plant, you’re supposed to pour the same amount into yourself.

It’s a neat idea in principle, and the execution is slick and adorable, with crisp cartoon visuals and soothing music.

Here’s how the gameplay works. Your huge-eyed plant sits in a pot on a tree stump. To feed it, you need to hold down an on-screen button, which prompts droplets of water to float up amid burbling noises and land on your grateful plant.

As your plant levels-up it grows and blossoms, until eventually it reaches its max level and graduates to the greenhouse.

Going Deeper Underground

Unusually, this greenhouse is underground, and it has layers, with the depth displayed on a little wooden sign beside your plant pot. Each layer of your greenhouse can accommodate three plants that you’ve completely levelled up topside, and once a layer is full you can start levelling that up too, using Sunlight.

After you level-up a layer all the way to three, you unlock a special creature that helps your plants get more sunlight and produce more Seeds. The creature you end up with depends on the combination of plants you place in that layer of your greenhouse, encouraging experimentation.

Seeds are necessary for, you guessed it, growing new plants. The more you collect, the higher value the plant you can grow, so there’s always an incentive to harvest seeds from your greenhouse and save them up.

Four leaf clovers, meanwhile, allow you to buy various cosmetic pot upgrades. You get four leaf clovers by logging in every day and by completing quests, though you can also obtain them by watching ads or through in-app purchases.

In fact, Plant Nanny 2 is full of opportunities to watch ads, mostly to double rewards. You can also watch an ad to collect seeds automatically, which is well worth it.

You can view your collection of plants at any time, and share them on all manner of social media platforms and messaging apps. They look great, with gorgeous art design and helpful little explainers telling you where they grow, what they look like, and so on.

Likewise, the animals all have their own cards with beautiful illustrations and informative and lyrical descriptions.

You Can Lead a Gamer to Water…

As you can tell, Plant Nanny 2 has all the trappings of a free-to-play casual game in terms of its upgrade loop, different currencies, in-app purchases, ad rewards, and so on. It’s almost like a clicker, albeit at a slower pace than any clicker we’ve played.

You can’t rush Plant Nanny 2. Even if you guzzle your entire day’s water intake in a single sitting, your plant stubbornly refuses to level-up beyond its daily allowance. And, as the app is at pains to point out, drinking too much water at once can be dangerous.

Plant Nanny 2 isn’t just a game. It’s a lifestyle app with the trappings of a game. In that sense, it’s only as good as the work you’re prepared to put into it. There’s nothing to stop you watering your plant without taking a drink, so you need to apply yourself to get the most out of it.

But if you’re committed to your own hydration, and you’re looking for a gentle, pleasant daily reminder to drink more water, Plant Nanny 2 seems as good a way as any to receive a bit of encouragement.

Download Plant Nanny 2 for yourself here.

Teens love the video app TikTok. Do they love it too much?

From the perspective of teens, TikTok is a major new outlet for self-expression, one proudly home to the silly, the loud and the weird.

To others, the Chinese-owned online video service is an unnerving black box that could be sharing information with the Chinese government, facilitating espionage, or just promoting videos and songs some parents consider lewd. (TikTok denies the first two concerns and says it’s working on the third.)

Welcome to the bifurcated world of TikTok, an emerging social-media powerhouse that lets users create and share short videos, many no longer than 15 seconds. “That’s where the Gen Z party is,” says Kory Marchisotto, chief marketer for e.l.f. Cosmetics. “That’s where they’re all hanging out.”

There’s little doubt that TikTok users find it irresistible. But TikTok is also the subject of a U.S. national-security review and a Pentagon ban. U.S. lawmakers are worried about national security and censorship risks posed by TikTok’s Chinese ownership.

TikTok draws so much attention because it’s the first China-owned social-media service to make serious inroads in the West. It’s a smash in the U.S. and other countries, attracting celebrities and companies eager to reach kids and young adults disconnected from traditional media. The NFL has an account. So do Chipotle, Reese Witherspoon, and The Washington Post. The U.S. Army previously used it to recruit soldiers.

People have downloaded TikTok 1.65 billion times, the analysis firm Sensor Tower estimates. In 2019, it was the second-most downloaded app in the Apple and Google app stores, trailing only WhatsApp. Research firm eMarketer estimates that TikTok roughly doubled its U.S. user base to 37.2 million in 2019.

To many users, what’s special is TikTok’s goofiness and sense of genuine fun. To use, just download the app and start swiping through videos. You don’t have to friend anyone or search for anything to watch. If you don’t go looking for it, you might not ever come across angry political discussions, much less envy-generating vacation shots from friends. Instead, you’ll likely to encounter a barrage of funny, meme-y videos from total strangers that TikTok spools up for you, personalizing the feed as you go.

Politics, of course, is still there; so is the social-media plague of misinformation. TikTok says it prohibits harmful misinformation.

TikTok makes money from ads, and sometimes the campaigns aren’t readily identifiable as ads. Companies can start hashtag-based “challenges” that invite users to participate by posting their own videos, often incorporating a particular dance or dance move. E.l.f. Cosmetics’ “eyeslipsface” campaign, for example, had people wink and purse their lips to go with the lyrics of an original song. Users created 3 million videos, with 4 billion views.

The service has helped launch musical stars like Lil Nas X, whose “Old Town Road” is the longest-running No. 1 song in the history of Billboard’s charts. There are pranksters, funny skits, behind-the-scenes of fast-food operations and “glow-ups” — before-and-after shots of someone making themselves look cuter. Some are more random: Kim Kardashian cooking parodies?

Some users say TikTok is more authentic than the self-consciously pretty and polished Instagram. Emilie Richer, a 19-year-old from Simcoe, Ontario, says she uses Instagram for “photos that look nice, or the good things I’m doing” and TikTok to “get loose, make jokes, pull pranks and stuff, dress up weird.” A TikTok video of Richer catching a pickle thrown into her mouth went viral in November.

A Chinese startup, ByteDance, launched TikTok internationally over two years ago. It then bought Musical.ly, another Chinese video service popular with teens in the U.S. and Europe. ByteDance combined the two, but kept TikTok separate from a twin service called Douyin, which it offers only in China. Until recently, Chinese social media services, built in a country hemmed in by censorship, have largely been confined to a domestic audience.

TikTok’s rise, fueled in part by ads on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat, has in turn shaken those U.S. services. The company behind Snapchat started listing TikTok as a competitor in 2019. Facebook, which famously copies features of its rivals, launched a knockoff called Lasso in 2018 and added TikTok-ian video-editing features to Instagram.

Beyond rivalries, concerns range from the sexual nature of some videos to censorship by China’s communist government.

India and Indonesia temporarily banned TikTok because of worries about children. Anastasia Basil, a Los Angeles writer whose children are 10 and 12, says she was upset by the explicit lyrics in songs and “extremes of sexualized content” she saw. Her 10-year-old’s best friend loves TikTok, she says; she told the friend’s mother not to let Basil’s daughter use it during sleepovers.

TikTok is working hard to ensure that it’s a “safe and positive environment,” says Kudzi Chikumbu, the company’s head of creator partnerships.

TikTok has fleshed out its community guidelines on what’s allowed. It offers a restricted mode for inappropriate content and limited accounts for under-13 users, although it doesn’t verify ages. Last year, the company agreed to a $5.7 million U.S fine over collecting personal information from kids under 13. The company says it deletes “wrongly created” accounts, such as those of underage users with fake birthdates, when they’re reported by other users.

But many security experts worry about the information sucked up by the service. People’s social connections, biometric data and interests that would be useful to an advertiser could also assist a hostile government in cultivating spies or tracking dissidents, says John Dermody, a former official with the National Security Council and Department of Homeland Security.

These national-security worries parallel a broader U.S. security crackdown on Chinese companies and President Donald Trump’s trade war with China. A U.S. national-security agency is reviewing ByteDance’s Musical.ly deal, while the Army, Navy and Marine Corps recently banned service members and personnel from installing TikTok on government-issued phones.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has criticized TikTok for allegedly censoring protests. Newsreports have asserted that TikTok has banned videos and topics in line with Beijing’s own censorship rules.

TikTok now insists that it doesn’t do so, nor would it even if the Chinese government asked it to. As for spying, the company denies it and says it stores U.S. user data in the U.S. and Singapore, not China.

Not everyone buys that. The Chinese government “can exert a fair amount of soft pressure” and get what it wants, says Chris Calabrese of the U.S. tech watchdog group Center for Democracy & Technology.

AP Business Writer Joe McDonald in Beijing and AP Technology Writer Matt O’Brien in Providence, Rhode Island, contributed to this report.

About My Sprint Rewards

My Sprint Rewards is a cashback and rewards app designed to gift Sprint subscribers discounts, offers and shopping perks. The program was rolled out in late 2018 by parent company Sprint; the 4th largest telecommunication company in the country. Sprint is currently headquartered at 6200 Sprint Parkway Overland Park, KS 66251. They’re found online at Sprint.com

How Does My Sprint Rewards Work?

So Sprint gives its subscribers goodies in the form of deals across a wide range of products and industries. Deals could be discounted meals, movie tickets, cashback on shopping or cheaper air tickets.

So as a Sprint customer, all you have to do is download the app, sign up and search for goodies. If you spot a deal, Sprint will offer you a discount on it or cashback on the purchase. You can choose to take it on immediately or save it for later, redeemable at your own pace. Each offer has a process you’ll need to follow in order to get the perk, discount or cashback.

Did you know you can also get cash back and gift cards on shopping at SwagBucks.com, and you can make real money doing basically what you do online like watching videos, visiting websites and much more? Well, now you know. If you’re not a Sprint subscriber, you can use Rakuten Rewards that works pretty much the same as Sprint.

My Sprint Rewards Complaints

So in theory this sounds all good. You wouldn’t expect any complaints against the sprint rewards program. But you’d be wrong! Here are some complaints against the app and decide for yourself.

Most offers suck

Some users say they’ve been using the app for a while but haven’t come across something cool or different from what they’re used to. The cashback rates can be pretty low for things you regularly buy. Others compared it to similar apps and clearly Sprint Rewards has some catching up to do. But to be fair the app is only a few months old at the time of writing, so maybe things will change with time.

Privacy concerns

Same as the GetUpSide app, users say you may have to give up an arm and a leg to use the app. They’ll need your location and access to your phone’s storage among other permissions. So you may have to determine whether these perks are worth a slice of your privacy.

My Sprint Rewards Alternatives

So perhaps you’re not a Sprint subscriber and would want something that’s open to you. You can check out the mobile versions of SwagBucks and Rakuten Rewards that offer great deals, cashback, and coupons for online shopping. You can even gift cards and real cash for doing the things you already do online like visiting websites, playing games and more. Pretty cool, right?

Is My Sprint Rewards Safe?

My Sprint Rewards is safe. If you’re a Sprint customer, you can land some great cashback and deals on everyday shopping. That’s the beauty of the internet nowadays, you rarely have to pay full price for anything if you can take advantage of such apps.

With that in mind, you can also earn cashback, coupons and promo codes with SwagBucks.com. They’ll even pay you for visiting websites, playing games, reading emails and much more. So if you’re not a Sprint customer, don’t fret, there are lots of options out there.
